Day eleven

April 2, 2006

After returning home from Burgess Hill there was a little bitch waiting for me at home. Oh, and a new dog. (ahaha) The match itself we lost; the pitch was made of sand and we played against an over 16 team. The only thing I could disect was not a lack of effort, though we didn't give our best. The ball didn't get recycled enough and the backs got only a few touches of the ball. Not that they did anything with it.

I myself didn't play in the first half. As I had played the last few matches on the entire time, this kid, Matt, was played to give him a run out. More importantly, I was told secretly I would replace our fly-half, Ollie, if he went off (he had a groin injury). I was pretty pumped about this but it never happened. I had the second half as my native Outside Centre with one touch of the ball.

I had a pretty awesome, and I mean awesome (one of my best ever) spells of tackles. I tackled a kid on one wing. Then the played who picked up thre ball. Then the kid who got the ball after that. Then the kid who got it after that I pushed to the ground, then I raced to the otherside of the pitch to help attack the other winger.

We only scored one try, but to be honest I don't think anyone was particularly bothered; there's only three weeks to go and no one was really paying attention.

Now onto the puppy. She's a girl, but that's okay. She's a lively bitch (I love saying that). She came on the ferry from Ireland on friday and would, literally, have been put to sleep if we hadn't have taken her. She is a pointer cross.

I called her D'Arcy, which is Irish for 'dark'. I love that name. And of course, here are some pictures:
